Project update- Construction contract received and Whistler Blackcomb Foundation 100K contribution.

The Phase 3 contract has gone to tenure, 2 parties bid on it and EHR Construction Ltd. will be managing the build while Transition will be building the skatepark starting August 11th after the ground breaking event. The budget has been tight but the WB Foundation has kicked in an additional 100K to ensure it will happen.

Check out the presentation online and listen to Martin Pardoe present the project to council.

Details aside, We are breaking ground early August, construction will go until November. Most of phase 1 and 2 will remain skate able over the construction period other than a few little inconveniences. Unfortunately, the lights will not be functioning over the construction period. In order to install additional lighting to phase 3 the lights will not be functioning or have little functionality at night time over the construction period.

The WSA would like to sincerely thank the WB foundation for their 100K contribution to ensure the projects forward movement and would also like to thank the RMOW for their investment into this project.
